Refined Modern Classic Living

Designing warm and inviting living spaces is a joy of mine. To create a warm and modern living space that you want to sink into can be achieved in many ways. One of my favored living room styles is a refined neutral palate with strategic pops of color. So much interest can be achieved in a room with a mix of natural materials and textures. The design below is grounded with a neutral patterned rug with a touch of color. Texture is layered in with a mix of concrete, dark ebonized wood, lamps and a pencil reed credenza. Color is added with rich rust velvet chairs.

The space feels both modern, classic and transitional all at once. The key to an inviting a lived in space is variety in the materials and furniture. Don’t be afraid to mix styles and pieces. Stay away from matching sets and layer in pieces that you love.
